frixion at Studio Apelbaum

Friction is the force resisting the relative motion of solid surfaces, fluid layers, and material elements sliding against each other. Types of friction include dry, fluid, lubricated, skin, and internal. Friction can have dramatic consequences. An important consequence of many types of friction can be wear, which may lead to performance degradation or damage to components…

frixion is a personal exploration of intimacy and connection through physicality. It uses liquid mediums to represent the duality between friction and ease. The artists let the audience into moments of the sexuality, joy and vulnerability of their deeply personal relationship using elements of performance art, dance, sound and lights.
